The M&H Distillery

Take true passion for single malt whisky, add the boldness and cutting-edge innovation that the Israeli start-up ecosystem is famous for, mix it with uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship and tradition, and you get M&H – Israel’s first whisky distillery.

We started in 2013, with a dream about a pioneering distillery that produces world-class spirits. Stepping into terra incognita, we knew that this was going to be a long journey full of twists and turns, but we never doubted it would be worth it. And we were right, with over 100,000 bottles sold annually in over 40 countries worldwide.

From the very beginning, we have been aiming for the absolute best. We tested ingredients, experimented with the recipes, and traveled the world to procure the most excellent of casks. We were joined by the late Dr Jim Swan, one of the world’s most accomplished master distillers and an expert in hot climate distillation and maturation, as our first master distiller, chief consultant, and fellow dreamer.

Compromise is never an option. We pursue perfection in every aspect, from our custom-made traditional copper pot stills to meticulous quality control throughout the process. Above all, we built an outstanding team with passionate members who make everything possible.

WHISKY

Israel’s average of 300 sunny days in a year and the Mediterranean climate are our greatest advantage. Hot climate maturation means that our whiskies age rapidly yet gracefully, achieving great depth and complexity. We take pride in being a part of a time-honored industry while giving tradition a twist, with maturation in diverse climate zones across the country, locally sourced cask types for our whisky and even the botanicals used in our gin that tells the story of the acclaimed Israeli cuisine.

We’re an urban distillery, located right on the border between the most vibrant and lively neighborhoods of Tel Aviv and the magical ancient port city of Jaffa. M&H is a part of the city’s fabric, among entrepreneurs and innovators, makers, and artisans. We built the distillery in our hometown, a walking distance from the beachfront, bustling markets and UNESCO recognized architecture.
